Our research at the interface of solid state chemistry, physics and materials science,
is focused on crystal chemistry - physical property relations in inorganic compounds.
One special interest concerns materials with highly correlated electrons, among
them magnetic compounds, Mott insulators, and iron based high-Tc superconductors.
The discovery of new materials with so far unknown crystal structures, as well as
compositional tuning of the properties of existing materials through solid solution
are our main tasks. We extensively research iron arsenide superconductors
focusing on basic and application-oriented aspects. For details please select the
